Truck fire on QEW near Burlington closes all Toronto-bound lanes – Nusens

A truck loaded with batteries caught fire on the 9th of September in the early morning causing the shutdown of Toronto-bound lanes of the QEW in Burlington. Fortunately, no injuries were reported. Our crew reached the scene at Burlington Skyway bridge & Fairview street around 3:30 a.m. Thursday.

To control the situation, our crew started the cleanup immediately. Roadway spill cleanups are some of the most challenging jobs to deal with. However, we ensure that we not only contain the spill from spreading but also control traffic alongside to avoid any further chaos.
Our team is still working on-site and are expecting to be there into the afternoon, ensuring that the well-conditioned is safe & back to its original state.

Update: Clean up delays on the #QEW Toronto bound lanes at Faiview. Only one left lane is open. Expecting a second lane by 6pm. Grinding and repaving of the highway expected to commence at 9pm.
